RICHMOND, Va. The Virginia CU League and the state’s credit unions have launched a statewide awareness campaign that focuses on social media outlets to educate consumers 18 to 35 about the benefits of banking at credit unions.
Organizers said a humorous video targeting the “hit” consumers have taken in recent years showcases the direct benefits of credit unions. The “QuitTheHit” video features a George Washington character, who represents money, physically taunting the main character. The video is currently featured on CU Journal's homepage.
Fifty Virginia credit unions, the League and several sponsors are funding the campaign.
