OLYMPIA, Wash. Washington State Employees CU said this morning it has signed with Insuritas to provide it with a turnkey platform and its web-based insurance agency capabilities.
Gary Swindler, chief member officer for the $1.9 billion credit union said creating an “Insurance Aisle” will provide the credit union with the opportunity to own an insurance agency and leverage lending and online banking to support the insurance needs of members. "It's a natural addition to the line of products and services we currently provide the membership,” he stated.
“A majority of our members purchase insurance from someone every year and we asked ourselves a simple question: Can WSECU help our members buy the insurance they need?" said Swindler.
Several other large credit unions have opted recently for turnkey agency from Insuritas, including MidFlorida CU, Oregon’s Rivermark Community CU and Denali Alaskan FCU.
