WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. - In her ruling in the case involving DFCU Financial Credit Union, Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Cynthia Stephens concluded:
1. There was no justification for the DFCU board of directors to refuse to call the special meeting.
2. DFCU member-owners have the right to a reasonable inspection of the books and records of DFCU.
3. An April 17 hearing will be held to determine the timing of the records inspection and what conditions should be imposed on the inspection.
4. The special meeting shall be held within 60 days of the date set for inspection of DFCU’s books and records.
5. Individual members cannot sue DFCU for using DFCU corporate funds to help the directors stay in office.
