WOCCU Elects New Board, Inducts New Chairman

CALGARY, Alberta - The World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) has elected a new board and chairman.

New members of the board include: Anne Cochran, CEO of the Louisiana Credit Union League; Alcenor Pagnussatt, President of the SICREDI credit union system in Brazil, and Daniel Burns, Chairman of Credit Union Central of British Columbia (Canada). Re-elected after two-year terms were Grzegorz Bierecki (Poland), John Gilbert (Australia) and Manual Rabines (Peru).

Melvin Edwards of the Caribbean Confederation of Credit Unions was sworn in as WOCCU's new chairman, the first from the Caribbean.
