OGDEN, Utah-Goldenwest CU is paying members a bonus dividend of $600,000 that will amount to a 4.50% dividend for the month of December. The one-time dividend of 4.35% APY will be paid on primary shares, secondary shares, Christmas Club shares and IRA shares.

DCUC Sponsoring 'Best Wishes'

WASHINGTON-The Defense Credit Union Council is sponsoring Operation Best Wishes, which allows military to connect with loved ones during the holiday season via a mobile, video recording studio where their personal greetings become animated holiday video greeting cards for distribution over the Internet. Loved ones and relatives then watch the holiday video greeting card on the Operation Best Wishes website, after entering a password which allows viewing access only to them.

League Launches C-Sun Studios

ONTARIO, Calif.-The California and Nevada CU Leagues have launched C-Sun Studios, which it said is designed to deliver a range of high-quality, low-cost media services, including online videos; webcasts (full-motion, live and recorded, from its or mobile studio); podcasts (audio and/or video); educational programming; onsite event production assistance; videotaping services for events, conferences, and seminars; training, and animation. It is being managed by VP-Digital Media Services Joe Keller.

MADISON, Wis.-Elected as the executive committee and officers of the CUNA Lending Council were: Chair, Bill Vogeney, SVP/CLO with Ent FCU; and Vice Chair, Jason Osterhage, SVP/CLO with Delta Employees CU, Atlanta, Ga. was named the council vice chair. Newly elected to the exec committee were Keith Troup of Washington State ECU; Wendy Rohrer, of Summit CU, Madison, Wis., and Bob Stowell, of US FCU.

NCUA and CUES Council Partner

PORTLAND, Ore.- The Northwest CU Association and the Northwest Council of CUES have entered into partnership to share professional development resources and networking opportunities, with three joint events for executives scheduled in 2013.

More Credit Unions In Mergers

MIAMI LAKES, Fla.-The $20 million Mercy (Hospital) CU is being absorbed via merger by the $135-million JetStream FCU. Longtime MCU CEO Joe Lanteigne will retire with the merger's completion. In Cleveland, Ohio, $11-million United Food and Commercial Workers Local 880 CU is being absorbed via merger by by $195-million Firefighters Community CU. In Sacramento, Calif., Valley First CU is absorbing State Center CU, while in Santa Rosa, Calif., Community First CU is absorbing Health Care Professionals of Napa FCU. In New Berlin, Wis., the $52-million Dodge Central CU s being absorbed by Landmark CU.

Branch Manager Elected To Council

NAPA, Calif.- Alfredo Pedroza, manager of Redwood CU's Sonoma branch, has been elected to the Napa City Council. Pedroza is already commissioner for the Napa County Gang and Youth Violence Commission, and sits on boards and committees for numerous other local organizations.

Community CUs Of Year Named

MADISON, Wis.-CUNA has presented two CUs with 2012 Community Credit Union of the Year Awards. In their respective asset size categories, the winners are First Community CU in North Dakota and Gulf Coast Community FCU in Mississippi.

McDonough Named To List

ROCHESTER, Minn.-Kelly McDonough, President/CEO of First Alliance Credit Union, has been named by Finance & Commerce as a 2012 Top Woman in Finance, which recognizes women across the state of Minnesota in the financial services industry.
