WOCCU Seeking Multiple Nominations

MADISON, Wis.-World Council of Credit Unions is calling for 2013 Distinguished Service Award (DSA) nominations, which will be presented at the World Credit Union Conference July 14-17, 2013, in Ottawa, Canada. The DSA honors individuals and organizations that have provided outstanding service to the global credit union movement. It is the international credit union system's highest honor. Separately, WOCCU is calling for nominations to its Young Credit Union People (WYCUP) scholarship program, which is for "individuals who have made significant contributions to their own CU organizations and have the potential to make a global CU impact." Ukrainian Home Dnipro Is Merged

ROCHESTER, N.Y.-The $8.9-million Ukrainian Home Dnipro FCU is being absorbed via merger by $152-million Ukrainian FCU. The combined CU will have 18,000 members and offices in Rochester, Albany, and Syracuse, N.Y., Sacramento, Calif., Boston, Mass., and Portland, Ore. In Brockton, Mass., $401-million Crescent Credit Union is absorbing $10.1-million Brockton Postal Employees CU via merger.

NCP Community In Conservatorship

ALEXANDRIA, Va.-NCUA has placed into conservatorshiop NCP Community Development FCU in Norfolk, Va. The agency said it is working to resolve safety and soundness issues at the $2-million NCPCDFCU, which has 709 members.

NAFCU Names Award Winners

ARLINGTON, Va.-NAFCU has named its 2013 Marketing Awards Competition winners. Winners in their respective asset categories are: Best Annual Report: Saratoga's Community FCU, XCEED Financial FCU, and Michigan State University FCU. Best Innovative Product or Service: Justice FCU and Coastal FCU.

Top Workplaces Are Named

LOUISVILLE, Ky.-A number of credit unions have been recognized for the quality of their workplaces, including Park Community FCU, named as a winner in the Best Places to Work in Kentucky by the Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management and the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. In San Antonio, Security Service FCU employees voted the organization into a spot in the top 100 American workplaces, as researched by WorkplaceDynamics. Out of 872 organizations reviewed, SSFCU was ranked 95 in the category of companies with more than 1,000 employees. The rankings are based on an employee survey.

CUES, CCCU Partner In Panama

MADISON, Wis.-The Caribbean Confederation of Credit Unions (CCCU) and CUES said they will host the second annual CCCU and CUES International Convention June 22-25, 2013 at the Riu Plaza Panama in Panama City, Panama. For info: www.cues.org.

Johnson New CEO At Sun Community

EL CENTRO, Calif.--Dale Johnson has been named president/CEO of $285-million Sun Community FCU. Johnson replaces former CEO Harold Walk, who has left the credit union for undisclosed reasons. Johnson was previously EVP/CFO.

Additions To NASCUS Board

ARLINGTON, Va.-John Kolhoff, Deputy Commissioner for Credit Unions for the Michigan Office of Financial and Insurance Regulation, has been elected Chairman-Elect of the NASCUS board, while Michael Wettrich, Deputy Superintendent for Credit Unions, Ohio Division of Financial Institutions, has been elected secretary-treasurer. Georgia regulator Stephen S. Pleger has also been appointed the NASCUS board to fill an unexpired term.

Lentz To CU House Hall of Leaders

CARLSBAD, Calif.-Robin Lentz, President and CEO of Cabrillo Credit Union, has been inducted into the Credit Union House Hall of Leaders in Washington, D.C. for her lifetime achievements in credit union leadership. Lentz, who has served at the helm of Cabrillo since 1979, has overseen growth to $195 million in assets from $6 million, and had been active in the California league throughout her career.
