More New CEOs Are Named
KANSAS CITY, Mo.-Kansas City CU has named Eric Jones as its new CEO. In Bethalto, Ill, Don Reedy, president and CEO of 1st MidAmerica CU, will retire at the end of May, ending a 35-year career with the $482-million CU. EVP/COO Alan Meyer has been named to succeed Reedy. And in Connecticut, Enfield Community FCU has named William Hagist has been named CEO for the $24-million.
In Lincoln, Neb., meanwhile, $70-million University of Nebraska FCU has named Keith Kauffeld as its new president/CEO. Kauffeld was mot recently VP/chief administrative officer at Air Academy FCU in Colorado. And in Gardiner, Maine, Gardiner FCU has named Vicki Lemieux as president and CEO of the $36-million credit union. Lemieux succeeds longtime CEO Phil Bergeron, who is retiring in June.
'Immersion Program' Now Open
MADISON, Wis.-The World Council of Credit Unions will host a credit union training and immersion program Aug. 17-24 in Loja and Cuenca, Ecuador. "This international training provides a unique focus on credit unions at the forefront of small business and microenterprise lending in Ecuador," WOCCU said. Reed, First Ent Win Awards
ANAHEIM, Calif.-Andy Reed, who leads the business development team at American Airlines CU in Ft. Worth, Texas, was named Business Development Professional of the Year during the CUNA Marketing & Business Development Council's annual meeting here. Reed will be among the speakers at Credit Union Journal's Grow Show in Orlando May 29-31. First Entertainment FCU, Hollywood, Calif. won the CMBDC Diamond Award for Best of Show.
BizKid$ Now Available Via Streaming
MADISON, Wis.-Biz Kid$, the CU-supported TV series on PBS that is focused on financial literacy, is now available as a Financial Literacy Streaming Service (FLSS). The program has been edited into short learning segments, and can be branded to a particular CU.

Trio of Hoosiers Into Hall Of Fame
WASHINGTON-Three credit union leaders from Indiana have been inducted into the Credit Union House Hall of Leaders: Loretta Burd, the retired CEO of Central CU, who was active in credit unions for 47 years at both the state and national levels; Ron Collier, CEO of Indiana Members CU, who has been active in credit unions since 1985 and in both credit union and community organizations; and John McKenzie, president of the Indiana CU League since 1990.
15 Named To Iowa Innovation Group
DES MOINES, Iowa--The Iowa CU League has named 15 people to its inaugural Iowa Innovation Group (IIG) program. Each member will serve a seven-month term, participate in periodic meetings led by a team from ICUL and the Filene Research Institute, and be responsible for piloting new ideas at their credit unions. The new members are Alejandro Alaniz of Des Moines Metro CU; Dan Davis of Financial Plus CU; Brian Day of The Members Gropu; Paul Farmer of Veridian Credit Union; Rich Head of Linn Area CU; Maria Johnson of Collins Community CU; Janet Lintin of Des Moines Police Officers Credit Union; Kris Lundquist of The Family CU; Penny McCoy of First Class CU; Jonathan Miller of Dubuque Teachers; Samantha Pingel of Fort Dodge Family CU; Aaron Plain of Dupaco; Denny Siemers of Town and Country CU; Kathy Steffes of Iowa Community CU, and Jennifer Tebbe of Greater Iowa CU.
Halleck On 'Top Influential' List
SAN DIEGO, Calif.--San Diego County Credit Union CEO Teresa Halleck has been selected as a "Top Influential" in San Diego by The Daily Transcript. Halleck was one of 50 San Diego-area business and community leaders who were selected by the publication as a "Top Influential," and among only eight in the "Finance" category.
CUNA Mutual An 'Ethical' Company
MADISON, Wis.-CUNA Mutual Group has been identified as one of the world's most ethical companies, according to Ethisphere, an international think tank dedicated to the advancement of corporate ethics and the importance of businesses practicing social responsibility.
Ethisphere cited CUNA Mutual Group along with 140 other companies in three dozen industries as the World's Most Ethical Companies for outperforming their industry peers when it comes to behaving ethically and demonstrating social responsibility.
Ethisphere, which publishes a magazine among other endeavors, is based in New York.
