COVINA, Calif.-Executive Compensation has launched its call to participate in "The Survey: Employee & Executive Compensation & Benefits Survey for the Credit Union Movement," the 10th consecutive year it has conducted the survey, which seeks to provide statistical and peer group data to assist in the design of compensation and benefit plans for key employees. Zahnle To Iowa Review Board

AMES, Iowa-Greater Iowa CU CEO Scott Zahnle has been appointed to the Iowa CU Review Board by Gov. Terry Branstad.

Tennessee Leaders Are Honored

NASHVILLE, Tenn.-Two people have been inducted into the Tennessee CU Hall of Fame: W. Blake Strickland, President/CEO of Tennessee Valley FCU and Dickie Johnson, chairman of Electric Service CU. Strickland was recognized for overseeing growth to $975-million in assets, while Strickland was recognized for his service to VolCorp and the Tennessee league as well as his work in the community.

CFO Council Elects Officers

MADISON, Wis.-Elected to the executive committee of the CUNA CFO Council were: Chair, David D'Annunzio, SVP/CFO for Heritage Trust FCU in Charleston, S.C.; Vice Chair, Suzanne Weinstein, CFO with Orlando FCU; and Second Vice Chair, Bryanna Tapley, CFO for CP FCU in Jackson, Mich. Also elected to the executive committee were Steven Arbaugh, CFO with SECU in Linthicum, Md., and Bradley Schone, SVP-finance and lending for Park Community FCU in Louisville, Ky.

CLARKSTON, Mich.-Clarkston Brandon Community Credit Union has expanded its FOM to include all who live, work, worship or attend school in Oakland, Livingston, Macomb, Genesee and Lapeer Counties.

NCUA Webinar Now Available

ALEXANDRIA, Va.-A webinar from NCUA's Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives, "Driving the Bottom Line: Results through Marketing," is now available online at www.ncua.gov/oscui. In the webinar, Sandi Carangi, director of Credit Union Marketing Services at the Pennsylvania CU Association, and Gustavo Grüber, VP with Coopera Consulting Inc., discussed marketing strategies to help credit unions improve outreach to current and potential members.

Mid-Atlantic Net Is Strong

MIDDLETOWN, Penn.-The $3.22-billion Mid-Atlantic Corporate FCU reported net income of $13.56 million at year-end 2012, a 124% increase over 2011. Year-end capital was $176.05 million, which included $167.65 million in tier-one capital. Mid-Atlantic noted its merger in February 2012 with VACORP FCU was partly responsible for the increase in assets, capital and net income.

Branding Paper Released

MADISON, Wis.--The CUNA Marketing & Business Development Council has released a new white paper, "Designing an Integrated Branding Approach," that explores credit union brand integration and management, incorporating insights from credit union experts, as well as discussing the tools that are necessary to achieve success. "This isn't just another white paper on branding; rather, it illustrates how an integrated brand can be implemented at all levels of the credit union, benefiting staff, members, and the bottom line," the CMBDC said.

The paper covers four main points: 1) Definitions and Trends, 2) How to Develop an Integrated Brand, 3) Integrated Branding Tools, and 4) Tactical Ideas. For info: www.cunamarketingcouncil.org.

Michiganders Are Recognized

LANSING, Mich.-The Michigan CU League has honored a number of people for their accomplishments, including: Credit Union Professional of the Year--Dan Harp, VP-lending, Dort FCUAward for Excellence in Consumer Education--Jeremy Cybulski, Co-op Services CU; CU Youth Advocate of the Year--Cindy Lardie, TBA CU; Young Professional of the Year-- Kaye Chervenak, Alliance Catholic CU; Chapter Effectiveness Award--Metro West Chapter; Outstanding CU of the Year--United FCU, Saint Joseph, and Distinguished Service Award--Catherine Roberts, in-Fusion Group.

Meanwhile, the Michigan CU Foundation recognized Jan Rose, president/CEO of E&A CU, as Community Volunteer of the Year; Communicating Arts CU in Detroit as MCUF International CU Development Award; Chapter Effectiveness award to the Metro West chapter.
