FITCHBURG, Mass.-Workers' Credit Union recently rolled out an online-only savings account that offers nationally-competitive interest rates. "This is a first for us, offering a product that you can only get online," noted Fred Healey, CEO of Workers' CU.

"Since the cost of providing the product and service is lower, we can offer a higher rate than a traditional savings account." There are no fees to open an account and one can be opened online in minutes. In addition, there are no penalties for withdrawals and funds can be easily transferred from other financial institutions. At press time the rate was at 3.10% with a minimum deposit of $500.
