ARLINGTON, Va.-NAFCU and NAFCU Services Corp. have launched CULookup.com, a free site designed to help consumers find a credit union they can join by geographic location or membership type. Also available are links to financial education resources and industry information.

Regan To Succeed Cestra At Digital CU

MARLBOROUGH, Mass.-Jim Regan, long-time CFO with Digital Credit Union (DCU), has been named to succeed Carlo Cestra, who will retire in the Spring of 2009. Cestra was named CEO in April 1995 and has overseen growth of one of the fastest growing CUs in the country, growing to 367,000 members today from 67,000 in 1995. Before joining DCU, Cestra was CEO at AT&T Employees FCU and Suffolk FCU. DCU said it chose Regan from a list of more than 700 candidates for the position.

WOCCU Call For Scholaship Nominations

MADISON, Wis.-The World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) has issued a call for nominations for its Young Credit Union People (WYCUP) Scholarship Program. Deadline is June 15. The program seeks individuals who have already made significant contributions to the development of their own CUs, regional or national CU systems and have demonstrated the potential to employ their unique talents at the international level. To be eligible, nominees must: 1) be sponsored by their CU or CU organization to attend WOCCU's 2009 World Credit Union Conference in Barcelona in July; 2) be 35 years of age or younger on Jan. 1, 2009; and 3) submit a completed nomination form. 'No More Minnesota Nice' Is The Theme

ST. PAUL, Minn.-The Minnesota Credit Union Network (MnCUN) has joined with other organizations to launch a fraud prevention campaign themed, "No More Minnesota Nice." The goal of the MnScams campaign is to reduce fraud in Minnesota by educating citizens on how to recognize and report scams. Created by the Minnesota Fraud Enforcement Partnership, which is composed of a network of state organizations, including the Minnesota Credit Union Network, banks, law enforcement agencies, and community groups, it includes a website, posters, brochures, table tents and other materials.

The MnCUN said will assist credit unions in learning how to identify mass-marketing scams, the negative impact these schemes have on financial institutions, and how to report a fraud. It is also distributed related educational materials.
