CUNA Councils Release Papers
MADISON, Wis.-Two of the CUNA Councils have released new white papers. The first, "A Strategic Approach to Ideal Capital: Building a Consensus," from the CUNA Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Council, overviews the process of finding and planning an ideal capital range based on the credit union's current and future situation.
The second, "Disaster Preparedness Training," from the CUNA Human Resources, Training and Development (HRTD) Council, reviews that challenge along with a list of training components and various training methods that can be employed. Non-members may purchase the white papers for a price of $50 per copy at www.cunacouncils.org; select the "Shared White Papers" link located in the "Shared Council Content" drop-down menu and select the "CFO" tab for the ideal capital paper, or the "HR/TD" tab for the disaster preparedness paper.
O'Dwyer To Resign From Irish League
DUBLIN, Ireland-Liam O'Dwyer, chief executive of the Irish League of Credit Unions, said he will resign on Dec. 31 but will continue in the position until that time. (ILCU) has announced his resignation. "Mr. O'Dwyer has decided for personal and family reasons not to extend his five year contract with the ILCU when it ends at the end of this year," the ILCU said in a released statement. The league said it is begun seeking a replacement.
The Golden 1 CU Offers AutoMagic

Commissioners Meet With Feds
ARLINGTON, Va.-Four new state credit union commissioners participated in NASCUS' New Commissioner Orientation in Washington. Over the two days, commissioners met with federal regulators, U.S. Treasury officials and NASCUS management to learn more about NASCUS and the credit union system. The new commissioners included Sarah Bloom Raskin (Maryland), Steven Kaplan (Pennsylvania), George Burns (Nevada) and Patricia Meadow (New York).
