International Shared Branch Open
QUITO, Ecuador-The first cooperative transactions between two separate shared branching networks in two different countries were completed here in a partnership between the World Council of Credit unions, CO-OP Shared Branching, Credit Union Service Corporation and the Colorado CU Association, as well as Red Transaccional Cooperativa and Multisoft.
The new network is called COONECTA. Among those who participated in those first transactions were Carroll Beach, who made a $20 deposit to his account at Westerra CU, Denver, through a teller at Cooprogreso CU in Quito, Ecuador, and Laura Pizzarelli, CO-OP Share Branching's SVP-corporate relations, who made a $30 withdrawal at the same teller window at Cooprogreso from her account at Hudson Valley FCU, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
AHFCU Named Top Place To Work
PHILADELPHIA-The Philadelphia Business Journal named American Heritage FCU one of the top 10 places to work for companies its size in the Greater Philadelphia area. AHFCU hosted a celebration in which its 250 employees were provided with lunch and games throughout the day.
Ramsey Takes Reins At FCFCU
Clarksville, Tenn.-Fort Campbell Federal Credit Union has tapped Stewart Ramsey as the credit union's new president. He will assume the role previously held by Thomas Kane.
Prior to joining Fort Campbell Federal Credit Union, Ramsey was the CEO of Blackhawk Community Credit Union.
ACU Gives Away Shopping Spree
ROME, N.Y.-The Griffiss Park Branch of AmeriCU was the site of a drawing in which one person won $10,000 and then had five hours to spend it. The contest was part of a promotion by local 98.7 FM sponsored by the CU, in which 120 people qualified by calling the radio station at certain times. Those times were available on materials distributed at AmeriCU's branches. Approximately 300 people attended the event.
