2 White Papers Are Released
MADISON, Wis.–The CUNA Councils have released two new white papers focused on creating and thriving in a team environment and creating innovative new products. “Thriving in a Team Environment: Leading the Finance Team to Support Credit Union Strategy” from the CUNA Chief Financial Officers (CFO) Council outlines how a CFO or manager can create and maintain a team environment and lead the finance team to support credit union strategy. Former CUNA Chair, Marin, Dies
CHELSEA, Mich.–Kenneth J. Marin, who served as chairman of the Michigan league from 1960-63 and was later chairman of CUNA from 1964-66, has died. Among Mr. Marin’s accomplishments, was appointment by President Lyndon Johnson to the White House Consumer Advisory Council, and election to the Michigan Credit Union Hall of Fame.
Ron Jackson Retires At EFCU
BEAUMONT, Texas–Ron Jackson has retired after 31 years with Education First CU, the last 27 as president. During his tenure, Jackson, 62, grew the credit union from $24 million in assets and 10,000 members to more than $210 million and 29,000 members. James Lackey has been named as Jackson’s successor.
Volunteer Retires After 40 Years
READING, Penn.–Berks Community FCU Vice Chairman George “Tommy” Arnold, retired from the credit union at year-end, marking 40 years as a volunteer. Arnold’s retirement comes as the $42-million credit union is preparing to celebrate its 55th anniversary.
