Lending Awards Deadline Aug. 9

MADISON, Wis.-The deadline for submitting nominations for the 2002 Credit Union Excellence in Lending Awards has been extended to Aug. 9 by the awards sponsors, The CUNA Mutual Group and the CUNA Lending Council. Four credit unions will receive awards-two in consumer lending and two in mortgage lending, with entrants divided by asset size. Managing Technology Program Set

Four To Enter DCUC Hall of Fame

WASHINGTON, D.C.-The Defense Credit Union Council said it will induct four people into its Hall of Honor when it meets later this year in Reno. The inductees are Rodney Brock (deceased), Service CU, New Hampshire; John Madri, Global CU, Washington; Leo Pike, Fort Knox FCU, Kentucky; and Robert Scott, 1st Liberty FCU, Montana.

MAX Voted Best In 3 Counties

MONTGOMERY, Ala.-The $525-million MAX Federal Credit Union was voted "best" credit union in Montgomery, Autauga and Elmore Counties in Alabama by readers of The Montgomery Advertiser. Readers were given the opportunity to vote for the best People, Places, and Services in the counties.

Eight Employees In Radio Spots

TUCSON, Ariz.-Eight employees of Hughes FCU here are being featured in radio spots running in this market. The campaign aims to reach lower-income residents with a message that affordable financial services are available at HFCU. The ads, part of a new branding campaign, are running on two FM stations and each of the eight employees repeat different service standards represented by the credit union.
