PCUL Exec On Transition Team

HARRISBURG, Penn.-Jan Hartman, VP with the Pennsylvania league, has been named to the transition team of Edward G. Rendell, governor-elect of Pennsylvania. Hartman has been named to a committee dealing with banking issues that will advise Department of Banking operations and recommend strategic priorities for the incoming administration.

More GAC Speakers Are Named

WASHINGTON-CUNA said that during its Governmental Affairs Conference (Feb. 23-26) here it will feature a panel that will include House Financial Services Committee Members Bob Ney (R-OH) and Brad Sherman (D-CA). CUNA Senior VP-Governmental Affairs John McKechnie will moderate. Also speaking will be one of the youngest members ever elected to Congress, Rep. Harold Ford, Jr., of Tennessee. Ford was first elected in 1996 at age 26.

DuTrac Pays Bonus Dividend

DUBUQUE, Iowa-DuTrac Community Credit Union is paying a bonus dividend and loan interest rebate to members. In all, some $417,000 will be returned to its 36,000 members. "We have had a very good year and wanted to share it with our members, they are the folks that make it all happen," said CEO Tom Sarvis.

Astronaut To Speak In Brisbane

MADISON, Wis.-Jerry Linenger, former U.S. and MIR (Russian) space station astronaut, is among those who will speak to the International CU Forum sponsored by the World Council of Credit Unions in Brisbane, Australia. The meeting is scheduled for June 22-26. Linenger's remarks are entitled, "Embracing Challenges and Change: My 132 Days Off the Planet."

Hansen Named VaCorp CEO

LYNCHBURG, Va.-Jim Hansen has been named president of the $1-billion Virginia League Corporate. Hansen most recently served as the CEO of O'Rourke Career Connections, LLC. Jointly owned by RSM McGladrey, Inc. and the California Credit Union League. Hansen also has 10 years of experience in the corporate credit union network, having worked for Southeast Corporate FCU in Tallahassee, Fla.
