Franklin Media CU To Merge

SAN JOSE, Calif.-The members of Oakland, Calif.-based Franklin Media Credit Union have approved a merger with San Jose, Calif.-based Meriwest Credit Union. The merger expands Meriwest's charter to attract and serve employees of media-related businesses in six additional California counties: Marin, Monterey, Napa, Santa Cruz, Solano and Sonoma. The merger also adds $5 million and 2,600 members to the $870-million Meriwest.

Redesigned Site For Ore. CUA

BEAVERTON, Ore.-The Credit Union Association of Oregon (CUAO) has launched a redesigned website. The site, at www.cuao.org, has new and improved functionality, added features, and a new look, the CUAO reported. Pop Art, Portland, oversaw the project. The goal, said CUAO, was to make the site cleaner, "easier to use, and accessible with a maximum of two to three clicks."

Two CUs Partner On Mortgages

FAIRBORN, Ohio-The $835-million Wright-Patt Credit Union said its CUSO, Wright-Patt Financial Group, has signed a wholesale mortgage loan origination agreement with $6-million Middletown Hospital Credit Union.

Under terms of the agreement, MHCU will obtain mortgage loan apps from its members and WPFG will provide loan processing, underwriting and coordinationof closings.

Separately, Wright-Patt CU has been offering free Internet access at its Gantt Financial Center to members of the community who have loved ones serving in the military overseas so that they may send e-mail.
