Calif., Arizona Leagues Partner

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif.-The California league has entered into a partnership with the Arizona league under which the CCUL will provide and administer education and training offerings to Arizona league-member credit unions, including the Summit Conference, Western States Volunteer Conference and the Arizona CU System Annual Convention. The CCUL will also market many of its educational programs and services to Arizona CUs.

Apps Accepted For Scholarships

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif.-The Richard Myles Johnson Foundation is accepting applications for its Leadership Scholarship Program for the 2004-2005 school year. The program provides four scholarships of $2,000 each to CU employees and volunteers in California and Nevada to help them pursue a graduate degree. Porter Winner Of Crear Award

NEW YORK-William Porter, CEO of Municipal Credit Union, will receive the Pete Crear Lifetime Achievement Award from the African-American CU Coalition when it holds its annual meeting in Atlanta on Aug. 13. Porter has led the New York City credit union since 1981 and has overseen growth to $1.2 billion in assets. Among that for which Porter is being recognized are efforts in the wake of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

$10K Donation Made By DFCU

CANTON, Mich.-Coinciding with the opening of a new branch here, DFCU Financial has made a $10,000 donation to the Plymouth-Canton Educational Excellence Foundation. The branch is the first in Canton for the $1.7-billion CU, which has nearly 7,500 members in the area.
