Cat-Like Marketers Unite: Stand Up For Your Right To Be Loud

I absolutely loved Kelly Parks' opinion piece in the June 4th issue of the Credit Union Journal. My favorite part is where she likened marketers to cats, "if you give us attention, understand our needs, respect what we offer, and give a little pat on the back from time to time, we'll follow you anywhere."

I also loved that Kelly asked credit union CEOs to pay us a little attention for a change.

I think, as marketers, we spend a lot of time thinking about how our messages will be received and others seem to spend less effort doing the same for us. Kudos to you for pointing that out to your CEO and all of the other bean counting personalities in Credit Union Land!

True Story: My department used to be located next to the accounting personnel. Just about a year ago we were moved to the opposite end of the building to the end of a long corridor because we were too loud for the accounting people! I love being loud and having fun. We're slinging ideas and getting excited down here at the end of our long corridor and I am glad that we aren't interrupting the bean counters anymore!

Keep up the opinion pieces!
