A Century of Service
Lowell, Mass.-based Jeanne DArc CU has more than 100 years of service, all in the state of Massachusetts, but it reached a milestone with the grand opening of its new branch that expanded its foothold into Nashua, N.H. The 2,500-squarefoot facility is the CUs 10th branch.
Breaking Ground
USF FCU hosted a groundbreaking to celebrate its new Tampa, Fla., branch, opening mid-2017. The branch will be the first off-campus building the CU owns and will feature the latest in eco-friendly building techniques, a large community room, and state-of-the-art technology.
Recognizing Athletic Excellence
La Capitol FCU, Baton Rouge, La., was the title sponsor of the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fames 2016 La Capitol Federal Credit Union Welcome Reception. La Cap has been a supporter of the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame for 10 years and is pictured with this years class.
SF Polices New HQ
SF Police CU celebrated the groundbreaking of its new, state-of-the-art administration building in San Bruno, Calif. The facility is designed by NewGround, a St. Louis-based experiential design-build firm. When complete, the new three-story building will have 68,000 square feet.
Helping Kids Succeed
Sikorsky CU, Stratford, Conn., donated to the Stratford P.A.L. (Police Activity League), which sponsors many afterschool and sports programs for youth, including cheerleading, baseball, boxing, football and soccer, and a Police Explorer program for those interested in a possible career in the field.
The Branch of the Future
Lompoc, Calif.-based CoastHills CU opened a branch in Thousand Oaks, Calif., its first in Ventura County. This branch of the future is the CUs first to utilize a state-of-the-art virtual banking experience, which services members through a digital face-to-face experience with a live member services officer.
Celebrating Success
Hanscom FCU, Hanscom AFB, Mass., supported the Hanscom AFB Senior NCO Induction Ceremony with a $1,000 donation. The ceremony recognized 13 Airmen who took part in a four-day Senior NCO Professional Enhancement Course.
School Supplies for Disadvantaged Kids
NuVision FCU, Huntington Beach, Calif., donated 200 backpacks filled with school supplies for disadvantaged children in its community.
Lets Go, Wildcats!
Portsmouth, N.H.-based Service CU celebrated the opening of its new Wildcat Stadium branch at the University of New Hampshire with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. It is Service CUs first branch on a college campus and a continuation of its partnership with Wildcat Athletics.
One Big Birthday
True Sky CU, Oklahoma City, Okla., celebrated its 70th anniversary with prizes and giveaways from Sept. 12 through Dec. 16 (its actual anniversary). The prizes were awarded through its social media channels and seven metro locations.
Desjardins Award
Fort Community CU, Fort Atkinson, Wis., received a state-level, first place Desjardins Award from the Wisconsin CU League for excellence in adult financial education. The CU hosts Life/Poverty Simulations for surrounding school districts and organizations, provides in-class support and materials to teachers on financial topics and more.
Welcoming an Olympian
Olympian, World and NCAA Champion Christa Harmotto Dietzen visited Clearview FCUs main office in Moon Township, Pa. Dietzen represented the USA as captain of the Olympic Womens Volleyball team in Rio. She and her family are longtime Clearview members.
Ambitious Growth Plan
Houston-based First Service CU opened its newest branch, its 12th in the Houston area, in Spring, Texas. It is the latest expansion for fast-growing First Service, which is aggressively pursuing an ambitious growth objective of becoming an $800 million credit union.
Supporting Local Police
Point Breeze CU, Hunt Valley, Md., kicked off a campaign to support local police departments within its service areas. Team members from each of the CUs three offices dropped off lunch to two Baltimore County Police Department stations (Precincts 7 and 9) and the Bel Air PD.
