USALLIANCE Financial, Rye, N.Y., launched its new community development program, "Association Month," by displaying art from Arc of Westchester, an agency that serves children, teens and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
SECU
In just 11 years, members of Raleigh, N.C.-based State Employees' CU, via the SECU Foundation, have invested more than $100 million in North Carolina through grants. SECU also signed a $1.2 million agreement with the NC Association of Feeding America Food Banks that will provide North Carolinians in need with 6 million meals over the next three years.
Security Service
The Security Service FCU Charitable Foundation in San Antonio donated $10,000 to the Vannie E. Cook Jr. Children's Cancer and Hematology Clinic in McAllen, Texas.
Yolo
A team of staff members from Yolo FCU, Woodland, Calif., delivered items to the Winters Fire Department crew who had been battling the Wragg fire for more than a week.
Portland
After a rare tornado struck Portland, Ore., the staff of Portland FCU purchased Portland Strong t-shirts and took several other steps to support the community's rebuilding efforts. The CU pooled funds and made a large donation to the Portland Community Fund.
TDECU
TDECU, Lake Jackson, Texas, donated $144,385 to the Brazosport Health Foundation. TDECU is celebrating its 60th anniversary in a number of ways, including surprising longtime member D. C. Passons with a cake on his 76th birthday when he made his regular branch visit.
Service
Service CU, Portsmouth, N.H., donated $1,000 to the New Hampshire National Guard Enlisted Association.
United
United FCU and Honor CU, both headquartered in St. Joseph, Mich., competed in a fun-filled softball game for the benefit of Gateway Services. Separately, United FCU was a Gold Legend Sponsor of the Niles Education Foundation's "A Legendary Evening" fundraiser.
RTN
In Waltham, Mass., the RTN FCU Employees Community Outreach Committee sponsored and served dinner for 80 men and women at the Bristol Lodge Soup Kitchen. Separately, the CU is a participating employer in the Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program for Boston, and it is sending member Sarah Chase to Las Vegas after she won a trip for two by entering the first of several drawings RTN is holding for its 70th anniversary celebration.
Dutch Point
Dutch Point CU, Wethersfield, Conn., helped the Wethersfield Department of Social Services' summer program that is helping high school students learn valuable life skills to prepare them for entering the workforce upon graduation.
Hopewell
In Heath, Ohio, Hopewell FCU's fifth-annual Car Show raised $1,250 for the Licking County Humane Society.
Texell
Texell CU, Temple, Texas, launched the Dollar Squad Mobile Game as part of its Dollar Squad Kids' Club, an original program for Texell's young members.
McGraw-Hill
McGraw-Hill FCU, East Windsor, N.J., completed the introductory phase of its first Financial Wellness in the Workplace Program for corporate America, a financial wellness-focused employee benefit program.
Ventura County
As part of its first hometown pride campaign, an effort to foster enthusiasm and demonstrate pride for the region, Ventura County CU, Ventura, Calif., is encouraging residents to upload photos of Ventura County on social media with the hashtag "thatsmyvc."
Northwest
In Herndon, Va., Northwest FCU's charitable arm, the NWFCU Foundation, awarded $100,000 in scholarships to 20 members as part of the Foundation's annual Ben DeFelice Scholarship program.
City & County
City & County CU, St. Paul, Minn., hosted a food drive for Second Harvest Heartland. Over the course of three days, members and staff collectively raised 1,379 lbs. of food and $288.58, equivalent to 2,015 meals.
New England
New England FCU, Williston, Vt., said its Shelburne Road branch was awarded LEED Silver Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. Separately, the CU hosted a free, open-to-the-public Shred Fest that saw 20,000 lbs. of documents destroyed, along with 395 hard drives.
Connex
As a part of its community-giving program ConnexCares, Connex CU donated nearly $650 from the fees collected by its coin-cashing machine at its headquarter branch in North Haven, Conn.
