Employees of St. Paul, Minn.-based Affinity Plus CU’s branches in Grand Rapids served participants at the annual Circles of Support Journey Dinner. Affinity Plus has co-sponsored the dinner for years and makes an annual donation to benefit Circles of Support programming.

Recruiting the next generation

U.S. Eagle FCU, Albuquerque, N.M., is continuing to offer an opportunity for local students ages 15 to 20 years old to immerse themselves in the credit union and financial industries. In 2013, U.S. Eagle launched its Junior Board of Directors through the guidance of Board Director Pamelya Herndon. This year, the Junior Board is comprised of seven members.

As an anniversary present Shell FCU will gift a 2017 Ford F-150 to one lucky winner. Connecticut’s credit unions asked members and local charities to rally in support of their favorite Connecticut charity using “#CUsGiveBack” on Twitter and Instagram. Stamford Dollars for Scholars received the most votes and was awarded $5,000 from the Connecticut Credit Union Charitable Foundation.

The latest winner of a Give-A-Click campaign from Jeanne D’Arc CU, Lowell, Mass., was Kids in Disability Sports, Inc. K.I.D.S. received a $1,500 donation from the CU’s We Share A Common Thread Foundation.

Taunton hits the big 7-0

Taunton FCU, Taunton, Mass., is celebrating 70 years of service in 2017. Established as Taunton Municipal FCU in November 1947 by Gerard Bonenfant in the basement of City Hall, it acquired several smaller credit unions in the 1980s and became known as Taunton FCU. After receiving a community charter in 1995, TFCU has grown its service area.
