Daily Bread donation

Member One FCU, Roanoke, Va., donated $1,000 to Lynchburg Daily Bread, a non-profit organization in Lynchburg, Va., as part of Member One’s quarterly Denim Days for Charities, when employees donate a minimum of $5 in exchange for wearing jeans on a specific day. In addition, the executive team served meals to 92 guests.

New Horizons CU, Mobile, Ala., awarded five, $1,000 scholarships to deserving high school seniors. Applicants were chosen based on their academic achievement, community involvement and essay responses.

Sioux Falls FCU opened its sixth location in Sioux Falls, S.D., the South Louise Branch. The new branch features a 24-hour ATM, three drive-up teller windows, night drop, self-service coin counting machine, Welcome Center, Transaction Center and Relationship Center.

Diamond CU, Pottstown, Pa., held its 13th Annual Charity Golf Invitational at Golden Oaks Golf Club. The event raised more than $31,000 for the American Cancer Society Relay For Life, adding to a 13-year total of more than $346,000 raised at the annual event.

Moline, Ill.-based Vibrant CU hosted a grand opening and ribbon-cutting at its Wolf Road location in Westchester, Ill. Vibrant merged with Salt Creek CU earlier this year and has since rebranded the Westchester branch.

Back-to-back volunteer weeks

Staffers at Dow Chemical Employees’ CU, Midland, Mich., participated in volunteer projects on back-to-back weeks. Some 20 employees participated in Midland County Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build Week, as DCECU served as a T-shirt sponsor. Then, eight employees cleaned litter from nearly a mile of the boulevard near the CU through the Adopt-A-Street program.
