Veridian feeds the hungry
Veridian CU, Waterloo, Iowa, joined United Auto Workers Local 838 to feed the hungry. Volunteers prepared a meal at the UAW Local 838 Union Hall for 630 people. The Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging delivered an additional 353 dinners to its current Meals on Wheels recipients. In total, the event served a free meal to 983 people.

Del-One FCU, Dover, Del., partnered with the Minnesota CU Network and StandbyME to offer the WINcentive Savings program to Del-One members. This prize-linked savings account offers the chance to win cash prizes. Every $25 saved earns Del-One members one entry into cash prize drawings ranging from $50 to $1,000.

Philanthropic honors
San Diego County CU was named Outstanding Philanthropic Business/Corporation by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, San Diego Chapter.

Honor roll
Royal CU, Eau Claire, Wis., was named to the WASB Business Honor Roll by the Wisconsin Association of School Boards. Every school year, RCU hires elementary and middle school students to work at RCU school site branches in several schools.

CU at the Fraud Fair
PSECU hosted its annual Fraud Fair for employees at its headquarters in Harrisburg, Pa. The event provides employees an opportunity to learn more about different types of fraud and how fraud risks can be reduced in an effort to protect members and their financial assets. Separately, PSECU’s marketing efforts received MarCom Awards for the fourth straight year.

Veterans memorial donation
Las Vegas-based One Nevada CU donated $6,000 to the Nevada Veterans Memorial Plaza project to express gratitude for the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice. The Nevada Veterans Memorial Plaza is building a new memorial plaza for the entire state that will be located at the Sparks Marina in Northern Nevada.

Food drive a sucess
Army Aviation Center FCU, Daleville, Ala., donated hundreds of pounds of food to food banks in its service areas following its annual food drive.

Belco's bake sale
Belco Community CU, Harrisburg, Pa., held an employee bake sale at all branches, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to Children’s Miracle Network. Belco also donated 5 cents for each debit and credit card transaction on one day to Children’s Miracle Network. With the two fundraisers, Belco raised a total of $2,480.51.

More than 1,000 local families identified as needing assistance by community-based organizations received a $75 gift certificate to Ralphs/Food4Less and a bag of food items, courtesy of Kinecta FCU, Manhattan Beach, Calif., and Nix Neighborhood Lending.
