Arrowhead
Team members, family and friends of Arrowhead CU, San Bernardino, Calif., fanned out across Riverside National Cemetery to place American flags at the graves of veterans.
American Airlines
American Airlines FCU, Fort Worth, Texas, commemorated its 80th anniversary by awarding $80,000 in scholarships, its highest annual total to date. From 650 applicants, the CU awarded 16 $5,000 scholarships to nine high school students and seven college students.
NuMark
NuMark CU, Joliet, Ill., helped Hopeful Tails Animal Rescue relocate to a new facility. The CUs staff made homemade dog toys created from old t-shirts to raise money.
Redwood
Redwood CU, Santa Rosa, Calif., received a Golden Bell Award from the Marin County Office of Education for its partnership with SchoolsRule Marin.
Dover
Dover FCU, Dover, Del., received the America Saves Designation of Savings Excellence award from the Consumer Federation of Americas America Saves Campaign.
MD DC
The Enterprise Holdings Foundation made a $5,000 donation to the Credit Union Foundation MD|DC to support the Foundations Millionaires Club high school financial education.
SPIRE
In just 13 short months, SPIRE CU, St. Paul, Minn., raised/donated $10,000 to Gillette Childrens Specialty Healthcare. SPIRE engaged in a number of fundraising activities.
Elements Financial
In Indianapolis, Elements Financial CEO Lisa Schlehuber raised more than $117,000 in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Indiana Chapters Man & Woman of the Year Campaign. Separately, the CU is offering free FICO scores to its members.
Ventura County
In Ventura, Calif., The Foundation of Ventura County Credit Union has launched and is working to support the local community in three focus areas: underserved populations, the beautification and preservation of the environment, and the general health and well-being of the region.
Kinecta
Kinecta FCU, Manhattan Beach, Calif., and its subsidiary, NIX Neighborhood Lending, became the largest credit union in California with a Juntos Avanzamos (Together We Advance) designation. It is the 50th credit union to be given the nationwide designation.
Greylock
Greylock FCU, Pittsfield, Mass., said 13 area college-bound high school students each received $500 from its Treat Everyone Better Than They Expect scholarship program. Scholarships are given to one community-minded senior class member from each Berkshire County high school.
