Providence FCU, Portland, Ore., made a $50,000 contribution to Providence Health & Services’ Helping Hands Fund, an emergency fund designed to support caregivers facing urgent financial hardship.

Wreath sponsorship

NuMark CU, Joliet, Ill., raised more than $3,000 and sponsored 315 wreaths placed at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood to support the Wreaths Across America project.

Vermont FCU 'Lives United'

Vermont FCU, Burlington, Vt., raised $30,004 for United Way. Funds were raised through staff pledging one-time or regular donations. The total of these contributions allowed the CU to exceed its goal by almost $5,000, and top its previous donation by $6,000.

Helping those in need

United FCU, St. Joseph, Mich., helped a member who recently lost everything in a house fire. Separately, the CU provided gifts to children in need.

Support for kids

Mid-Hudson Valley FCU, Kingston, N.Y., held a special fundraiser to benefit children staying in the Pediatric Unit at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. The CU hosted an event to support its sponsorship of The Berenstain Bears Financial Literacy Program. Separately, the CU donated $1,500 to the Woodstock Land Conservancy as part of a Woodstock community outreach effort.

Mental health education donation

In Albany, N.Y., CAP COM FCU and its foundation partnered with the Mental Health Association in New York State. CAP COM donated $10,000 to MHANYS to open a new training facility for individuals and families as a unique space for mental health education.

The big 6-0

Bridgeton, Mo.-based Vantage CU celebrated its 60th anniversary serving the St. Louis area with two weeks of in-branch events, collecting memories from members and presenting them with giveaway opportunities, including a drawing for one $600 grand prize winner. Separately, Vantage held a special promotion to encourage saving by members age 17 and younger.

New England FCU, Williston Vt., donated $5,000 each to three community organizations: Martha’s Kitchen, which provides nourishment and companionship, Tim’s House Shelter, which helps homeless families and individuals, and the Franklin County Home Health Agency.

Grand reopening celebration

Greenville, S.C.-based Greenville FCU hosted a grand opening celebrating the renovation of its Wade Hampton branch, the last of its four locations to undergo a major overhaul. This facility not only addressed safety and parking concerns, it now offers 4 lanes and an ATM lane for fast transactional service for its members.

New service center

Colorado Springs-based Ent CU began construction of a freestanding service center on the campus of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. The new, full-service center will incorporate state-of the-art technology to provide members with added convenience. Ent also announced construction of a new freestanding service center in northern Colorado Springs.
