Member Appreciation Celebration: CUs in the Community

Northwest Federal, Herndon, Va., held its annual Member Appreciation Day with free food, carnival games, face painting and more. A cold, rainy day didn't keep more than 1,000 members from enjoying the festivities.
Five CEOs of credit unions serving law enforcement in Ohio came together in Columbus for this picture in support of their members. They used the photo during National Police Week.
In Fremont, Mich., as part of Gerber FCU's annual Financial Literacy Legislative Challenge, students at Fremont High School met with Senator Goeff Hansen and Gerber FCU President/CEO John Buckley to provide students with lifelong financial skills.
TruMark Financial CU, Fort Washington, Pa., hosted its ninth-annual Financial Jeopardy competition. TruMark awarded three scholarships a $5,000 grand prize, a $3,000 second prize, and a $2,000 third prize to the students who fared best in the competition.
The Security Service FCU Charitable Foundation, San Antonio, donated $5,000 to the Armed Services YMCA Free Summer Food Program to help those serving our country put food on the table during tough times.
NET CU, Olyphant, Pa., awarded $2,500 scholarships to Emily Jonsson and Eric Gowat as the winners of the 2016 student essay contest.
Montcalm Public Employees CU, Edmore, Mich., celebrated its 50th annual meeting. To commemorate the occasion, multiple prizes from local businesses were given away with the grand prize of a 50-inch LG TV won by one lucky member.
Diamond CU, Pottstown, Pa., held its 12th Annual Charity Golf Invitational in support of the American Cancer Society Relay For Life. Despite some rainy conditions, more than 200 golfers attended and the event was a huge success, raising $32,000 for the Relay.
Thinkwise CU, San Bernardino, Calif., received the San Bernardino County Education Medal of Honor for exemplary service to the San Bernardino County Unified School District and making a lasting contribution to public education.
In Harrisonburg, Va., a record crowd of almost 1,300 members attended the annual Park View FCU Neighborhood Connection. Members enjoyed a complimentary dinner and many attended one of three shows, including music from Shekinah, a local female vocal ensemble.
