Even as it marked ICU Day with special events at its other branches, Rogue CU, Medford, Ore., was opening a brand new branch with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Baking up something special
In Biddeford, Maine, staffers of TruChoice FCU, Portland, Maine, performed random acts of kindness—in this case, surprising Reilly’s Bakery customers by paying for their breakfast. The CU is headquartered in Portland, but with a new branch in Biddeford, this was an opportunity to get the word out in this community.
Unitus listens
On ICU Day, Unitus Community CU, Portland, Ore., unveiled a new town-hall format for its monthly staff meeting, featuring Q&A with President and CEO Steve Stapp and EVP and COO Jason Werts.
Big-name SEGs
Tech CU, San Jose, Calif., hosts booths at eBay and PayPal, where it gives away gift basket and invites folks to get their groove on with a hula hoop.
Got CU swag?
Royal CU, Eau Claire, Wis., took International Credit Union Day out of the branch, sending dozens of team members to different locations to hand out cash, cups, gift cards and other treats. Here, students of Chippewa Valley Technical College show off their ICU Day swag.
Coins with a cause
On ICU Day, Rogue CU, Medford, Ore., hosted Coins with a Cause, giving members the opportunity to choose between two local organizations they would like to support; CU4Kids or Habitat for Humanity. This event raised $595.75 total for these organizations.
People helping people worldwide
Representatives from the Romanian Federation of Credit Union, the Central Association of Credit Union from the Republic of Moldova and the Russian League of Credit Unions all gather in the Romanian city of Iasi to celebrate International Credit Union Day. There were 12 people from Russia, six from Moldova and 32 from Romania.

Travis County CU, Austin, Texas, serves breakfast to members on ICU Day.
