Quidditch, Anyone? CUs in the Community

Associated
Associated Credit Union of Texas, in League City, Texas, sponsored the 2016 Major League Quidditch Championship, with 16 teams from the U.S. and Canada bringing to life a game popularized by J.K. Rowlings Harry Potter books.
Cabrillo
San Diego-based Cabrillo CUs team, Chili de Janeiro, was selected Best Booth at XDIs 4thAnnual Chili Challenge. In addition to bragging rights, the CU won a $1,000 donation benefitting Rady Childrens Hospital San Diego.
Dover
The Teen Titan program of the Milford Boys and Girls Club wrapped up its program developing money saving skills that will empower future financial success as the kids enjoyed a day learning about financial literacy at Dover FCU, Dover Del.
Legacy
In Birmingham, Ala., Legacy Community FCU and its Legacy for Good Foundation partnered for the 3rd Annual Legacy for Childrens initiative, donating $13,750 to Childrens of Alabama, the states only freestanding pediatric medical facility. The CU also donated 5 wagons for use at Children's of Alabama.
SECU
State Employees CU, Raleigh, N.C., and its SECU Foundation provided Good Shepherd Center, a housing project for area seniors, veterans and persons with disabilities, with a $1 million grant. The Foundation gave a $1.8 million grant to establish the SECU Center for MemoryCare in Asheville to provide treatment of Alzheimers and other cognitive impairments.
RTN
RTN FCU, Waltham, Mass., twice sponsored Kids Take the Field Night with the Lowell Spinners, a minor league affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.
PenFed
PenFed, Alexandria, Va., opened its first full-service branch in the state of Nebraska to reach more than 10,000 local members throughout the Greater Omaha area.
America First
Employees in the lending sales call center and mortgage operations departments of America First CU, Riverdale, Utah, played a large role in the Catholic Community Services of Northern Utah Backpack Bonanza, contributing 177 backpacks, two large bins of school supplies and $300.
CoastHills
Telecom/PC Specialist Wayne Copes won the employee chili challenge for CoastHills CU, Lompoc, Calif. The event raised money for the Conejo Free Clinic, which is near the CUs new branch in Thousand Oaks, Calif., its first in Ventura County.
Vantage West
Vantage West CU expanded its presence in Tucson, Ariz., by breaking ground on a 38,500-square-foot building that will accommodate present and future growth. The new building will connect to the current HQ and will include a 10,000-square-foot technology center.
Diamond
For the sixth consecutive year, employees of Diamond CU, Pottstown, Pa., donated school supplies to help ensure every local student could start the school year off right, regardless of their familys financial situation.
Langley
In Newport News, Va., Langley FCUs Langley for Families Foundation donated $15,000 to Menchville House for support of its emergency housing facility and services provided to local homeless families.
