San Diego County CU sponsored and participated in the 7th Annual Credit Union SacTown Ten-Mile Run to benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. In San Diego, proceeds benefitted Rady Children’s Hospital and CHOC Children’s.

Notre Dame FCU, Notre Dame, Ind., raised more than $8,500 for local non-profit LOGAN Center, whose mission is to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. CU employees sold green noses, chocolates and wristbands, among other items.

The Friends of the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization facilitated by Pen Air FCU, Pensacola, Fla., donated $35,000 to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society of Pensacola at the 17th Annual Friends of the NMCRS Charity Golf Tournament.

Mission FCU, San Diego, held a two-month fundraising campaign to support the fight against the No. 1 health threat to women: heart disease. The CU raised more than $12,000, proceeds that will benefit the lifesaving work of the American Heart Association San Diego Division.

Twenty employees of LBS Financial CU, Long Beach, Calif., volunteered at the Patriots and Paws Open House in the City of Orange. Patriots and Paws helps veterans in a number of ways, including helping train rescue animals to be service animals for a veteran.

ABNB FCU, Chesapeake, Va., donated $2,260 to the NAFCU/Political Action Committee on behalf of 2016 ABNB employee contribution efforts. The funds were raised through voluntary staff payroll deductions in 2016.

In Granite City, Ill., employees of GCS Credit Union raised $1,045 in one month to benefit the Cinderella Affair, a nonprofit organization that helps boys and girls have whatever they need for special events, particularly high school proms and homecomings. For one day the glass slipper is one size fits all and everyone gets to feel like royalty.

Genisys CU, Auburn Hills, Mich., raised $37,748.29 for the 2017 OLHSA Walk for Warmth. The donation is the largest in the CU’s history and will benefit the Emergency Utility Assistance program, assisting Oakland and Livingston county households facing utility shut-off notices.
