Special needs library

Hopewell FCU, Heath, Ohio, donated $300 to the Licking County Library, which will use the funds to purchase toys, especially toys adapted for children with special needs. These specialized toys will be available for check out via a toy-lending library.

Kiss-A-Pig fundraiser and high school grant

TruMark Financial CU, Fort Washington, Pa., held its annual Kiss-A-Pig Financial Literacy Fundraiser. The CU raised $78,000 through its Building Financial Futures initiative and Bensalem High School received a $5,300 grant.

Gerber boosts its United Way donation

Gerber FCU, Fremont, Mich., donated $9,529.56 to the United Way. Employees raised $6,353.04 and the credit union donated a 50 percent match. The amount represented a record 30 percent increase in giving by Gerber FCU employees over their 2015 donation.

Suffolk FCU, Medford, N.Y., launched a new version of its website at www.suffolkfcu.org, which it said provides members an exciting, inviting and bold new look with an enhanced user-friendly experience. Upgrades were based on analysis of the online needs of members.

Kellogg Community 'Lives United'

In Battle Creek, Mich., Kellogg Community CU and its employees pledged $12,000 to the United Way of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Region. KCCU employees contributed $6,000, and the board of KCCU generously agreed to match their funds dollar for dollar.

Fill'er up!

San Antonio-based Air Force FCU donated more than 800 lbs. of paper products and non-perishable items as part of the “Fill’er Up for the Fisher House” food drive for the Fisher House at Joint Base San Antonio Lackland. Fisher House is a public-private partnership that provides families with living quarters and support when coping with specialized medical situations.

Big awards at Andrews FCU’s Belgium branch

The Chievres, Belgium, branch of Andrews FCU, Suitland, Md., provided an award to a woman who discovered money in the parking lot. She found a substantial amount of money lying on the ground, along with a business card from Andrews Federal, and brought the money into the CU. Andrews Federal was able to piece together to whom the missing funds belonged.
