Fiserv Says 200 Banks and Credit Unions Use Its Mobile Money

About 200 banks and credit unions are using Fiserv Inc.'s Mobile Money software, more than double the number that were live with the service a year ago, the Brookfield, Wis., vendor said Monday.

In all, more than 375 banks and credit unions, including those that are live today, have agreed to use the Mobile Money platform, which includes mobile banking and payments features.

Consumer adoption has also grown more than 600% in the last six months, Fiserv said. "Adding services like bill payments, e-bills, remote deposit capture and person-to-person payments is a near-term priority for most financial institutions, with point of sale payments on the horizon," Erich Litch, the division president of digital channels at Fiserv, said in a press release.

Fiserv developed Mobile Money in 2008 with Mobile Commerce Ltd., which Fiserv acquired in March.
