Plourd Set to Lead Community West Bank

Community West Bancshares in Goleta, Calif., has named Martin E. Plourd as president and chief executive of its bank subsidiary, Community West Bank.

Plourd also will serve as vice president of the $643 million-asset parent company, Community West said late Wednesday. Edward J. Mylett has been serving as acting president and CEO of the bank since Linda Nahra stepped down from those positions at the end of July to become a regional president at Pacific Western Bank of Los Angeles. Nahra had also served as president and CEO of the parent company.

Since July 2009, Plourd has worked as a consultant on bank strategic planning, acquisitions and compliance. From July 2005 to July 2009, he served first as the chief operating officer and then president of Temecula Valley Bank in California. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. closed the bank in July 2009, and its deposits were taken over by First-Citizens Bank and Trust Co. in Raleigh, N.C.

Plourd also spent 18 years with Rabobank and its predecessor, Valley Independent Bank in El Centro, Calif.
