LifeLock, of Tempe, Ariz., announced the reselling agreement Tuesday. LifeLock also markets itself directly to consumers and through community banks. It typically pays banks $1 a month for every customer who signs up for its service.

LifeLock puts fraud alerts on its customers' credit files, making it harder for criminals to open new lines of credit.

Working with LifeLock "is a perfect example of Heartland Credit Union offering a proactive solution to a growing epidemic," Pam O'Connell, Heartland's president, said in a LifeLock press release.
