Back to the future for Garman.

When Electronic Payment Services Inc. was formed, Richard Garman - then working as an investment banker for Montgomery Securities - helped midwife the deal.

Three years later, Garman is back, but this time as EPS' new president and chief operating officer.

EPS - the corporate parent for the MAC regional automated teller machine network - tapped Garman to manage its daily operations. The company has grown dramatically since being formed - it now has 15,000 ATMs, making it the largest regional network in the country - and it is moving ahead very aggressively in new markets such as debit card processing and smart cards. Garman will oversee these efforts and report to EPS chairman and chief executive David Van Lear.

Prior to joining Montgomery, Garman ran First Financial Management Corp.'s outsourcing business.
