Banc of California Makes Two Exec Appointments

Banc of California in Irvine has named executives to the newly created positions of chief strategy officer and chief investment officer.

Francisco Turner will serve as chief strategy officer at the $7.3 billion-asset company, while Brian Kuelbs will join the bank as chief investment officer

Turner previously led Banc of California's acquisition of Banco Popular's California branch network. Before joining Banc of California, he was managing director of institutional banking at The Bancorp Bank.

As chief investment officer, Kuelbs will direct Banc of California's enterprise-level capital allocation and have responsibility for the corporate treasury and other areas. He will also join the board of subsidiary Palisades Group.

Kuelbs was previously chief financial officer and head of capital markets at Home Point Financial Corp., in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Banc of California on Monday named James McKinney as chief financial officer.
