Bank forming in Mich. chooses a chief exec.

Steven W. Lopez has been named president and chief executive of Southside Bank, a community development bank being formed in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Mr. Lopez is a former National Westminster Bank NJ executive. At Natwest, he had been a regional credit officer/commercial lending for a sixteen-branch unit covering Hudson and Bergen counties.

He has been in banking for 20 years.
