Bank of America Rolls Out Mobile Check Deposit Service

As promised, Bank of America launched Thursday several mobile banking products, including mobile check deposit.

Mobile Check Deposit is currently available on the iPad and will be available in the coming weeks for the iPhone, Google Android smartphone or tablet and Windows Phone. With the click of a cell phone camera, a BofA customer will be able to deposit a check.

In today's announcement, the bank also discussed person-to-person mobile payments, which it debuted with Wells Fargo and clearXchange in May. clearXchange is an open payment processing network owned by Bank of America, Chase and Wells Fargo. The payment feature will be available in the bank's mobile apps for the iPad, iPhone, Google Android smartphone or tablet, Kindle Fire and Windows Phone or via mobile browser in select states and nationwide by mid-August.

The Charlotte bank says those money transfers are fee-less.

"Our customers are living in a more connected world and that extends to their financial lives. This 'always-on' environment calls for more convenience, control and flexibility, and we are providing it," says Aditya Bhasin, BofA's consumer marketing and online and mobile executive, in a press release.
