Bank of New York Mellon Corp. said it had opened a corporate trust office in Richmond, Va.
The office is part of the New York company's regional and global expansion plan, the company said on Monday. Its Middle Atlantic group sells corporate trust services to government entities, not-for-profit institutions, and other organizations in Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia.
Corporate trust providers are appointed by corporations, municipal governments, and other entities issuing debt.
