Small banks once again dominated American Banker's annual Best Banks to Work For list. Of the 90 banks that made the cut this year, 51 had total assets of less than $3 billion.
The list includes Wood & Huston Bank, a newcomer to Best Banks to Work For that nabbed the No. 1 ranking based on positive employee feedback and a top-performing weighted employer score. The Marshall, Missouri-based bank had about $1.2 billion of assets as of June 30, 2025.
