BillingTree Inc. said it has an agreement to provide mobile billing services to Pulaski Electric System, a utility in Pulaski, Tenn.
BillingTree works with Kaizen Communications of Jacksonville, Fla., to provide a text-message notification service that Pulaski will use so its customers can authorize payment via automated clearing house transfer, credit or debit from accounts that have been previously enrolled. BillingTree in Phoenix handles payment authorization and settlement.
Daryl Williamson, Pulaski's vice president of customer support, said in a press release Wednesday that the system "has been very well received by our customers," including those outside the 20-to-30 age group it was targeting. "We had customers in their 50s and 60s signing up as well," he said.
