BMO Capital Markets Names Head of U.S. Economics

The investment and corporate banking division of BMO Financial Group (BMO) has promoted senior economist Michael Gregory to deputy chief economist and head of U.S. economics.

In his new role at BMO Capital Markets, Gregory will lead the company's economic research in the U.S. and provide research to clients who are focused on the U.S. dollar. He will be based in Chicago and report to Chief Economist Doug Porter, according to a Monday press release.

Gregory joined BMO in 2001 to lead its Financial Services Analysis Team and moved to BMO Capital Markets Economics in 2004.

"[Gregory] has provided timely, in-depth analysis and commentary to BMO clients and stakeholders for over a decade," Porter said in the release. "As we continue to expand the scope of our North American research, mirroring BMO's growing footprint in the U.S., Michael will play an important role in driving coverage with on-the-ground insights."

BMO Capital Markets is based in Toronto.
