BNY Mellon Names Brian Shea to Lead Technology Group

BNY Mellon (BK) is getting a new head of technology amid a series of executive moves.

The nation's largest custody bank said Friday it has named Brian Shea head of BNY Mellon's global operations and technology group.

Shea, who also was named president of the company's investment services group, will continue to lead the company's Pershing services unit and its broker-dealer and adviser services businesses.

BNY Mellon also named both a new president and an investment services chief in the shuffle. All three appointments take effect January 1.

In a news release, BNY Mellon CEO Gerald Hassell said each of the executives share "a common passion for putting clients at the center of our business strategy and for delivering excellence in all that we do."

Shea will succeed Kurt Woetzel, whom the company recently appointed to head a new global collateral services unit.
