Calif. National Hires Ruvalcaba As Executive Vice President

California National Bank, Los Angeles, has hired Daniel A. Ruvalcaba as its executive vice president and senior credit administrator.

Mr. Ruvalcaba, who has 27 years' banking experience, was a senior vice president and lending officer at California Federal Bank, which merged with Golden State Bancorp on Sept. 11.

He came to CalFed from Traveler's Insurance Group, where he was an executive vice president.

California National, which has $700 million of assets, also hired Robert W. Blackman as retail banking administrator and a senior vice president.

Mr. Blackman, an 18-year veteran of retail banking, was most recently an independent consultant in Arizona. Before that he held retail posts at Prudential Bank and Trust in Atlanta.
