Hinds, a former top executive of Verifone Inc. and AT&T Corp., has been elected a director of Racom Systems Inc., which specializes in the contactless chip cards that are best suited for high- volume transit and toll applications. Mr. Hinds was executive vice president at Verifone, just one rung below chief executive officer Hatim Tyabji, until July 1996. Before joining Verifone in 1993, he was AT&T's senior vice president- international and president of AT&T International.
