touting its largest installation of Veritalk Enterprise, the company's high-end software for managing point of sale terminal networks.
Nova Information Systems Inc. is using Veritalk Enterprise to manage terminals for its merchants. Atlanta-based Nova migrated to Veritalk Enterprise last year because it outgrew the Verifone Zontalk system. The company is announcing the upgrade now that the system is "proven," said a Verifone Inc. spokeswoman.
Veritalk was chosen "because it could handle our rapid growth and offer us the functionality we needed to conduct our business," said Pamela Joseph, chief information officer for Nova. Verifone agreed to "do a custom installation the largest ever done in the world," she said.
Veritalk Enterprise is designed to support 60,000 terminals or more. It enables Nova to perform 64 simultaneous downloads and have multiple, real-time access to its data base. Though the majority of Nova's terminals are Verifone, Veritalk Enterprise supports competitors' terminals that use a common technical protocol.
