Card Briefs: Visa Cash Test Extended To Coca-Cola Machines

In the latest aspect of Visa Cash's Australian pilot, Coca- Cola vending machines will be outfitted to accept the plastic cards with embedded computer chips. Thirty machines that sell Coke will accept the cards beginning next month.

Westpac Banking Corp.; Australia and New Zealand Banking Corp.; Cuscal, a group of credit unions; National Australia Bank, and Commonwealth Bank are participating in the test. The pilot is now in its ninth month, and 100,000 transactions have been completed.
