Card Briefs: Women's Clothier Expands Private-Label Program

After a pilot, the upscale women's apparel retailer Mondi of America is expanding a private-label credit card program from Shoppers Charge Accounts of Mahwah, N.J.

The new cards will be available at 46 stores operated by the Secaucus- based company, which has outlets in 24 states.

The company said the test run of the cards was stronger than expected. "I anticipate that we will develop a new customer due to the exclusive nature of a private-label card," said Mondi's president, Yazmet Colon de Clarke.
