Carolina Premier Bank Hires Chief Credit, Lending Officers

Carolina Premier Bank in Charlotte, N.C., has recruited Timothy C. Key to be its new chief lending officer and Carrington S. "Cash" Canada as its chief credit officer.

They will take over duties formerly held by Jim Mauney, the community bank's chief lending and risk officer of the last three years, who has retired. He will continue to work for the bank as a consultant during a transition period.

Each hire has more than 20 years of banking experience. Key leaves behind his position as the commercial team leader at SunTrust to head the commercial banking team at Carolina Premier, and Canada was a senior credit officer at First Bank of Georgia in Augusta.

"Tim brings sales discipline, a passion for client service, and market knowledge to this role," said David P. Barksdale, Carolina Premier's CEO, in a press release. "We look forward to Tim's leadership as we continue the pursuit of becoming a high-performing community bank."

Carolina Premier Bank has about $250 million in assets.
