CertusBank to Buy South Carolina Mortgage Company

CertusBank has agreed to buy a mortgage lender in Columbia, S.C.

The Greenville, S.C., bank will acquire Resource Financial Services, which has eight offices in five states. CertusBank did not disclose the price it will pay for the four-year-old company.

"We are committed to bringing smart, innovative solutions to the market,” Walter Davis, a co-CEO of CertusBank, said in a press release. “Adding Resource Financial Services … makes perfect sense. Their expertise and reputation in the industry is a natural complement to our commitment to provide an unparalleled experience."

CertusBank has 33 branches in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and Florida. The bank recently bought Myers Park Mortgage in Charlotte, N.C., and it bought the failed Hometown Community Bank in Braselton, Ga., last month.
