Cheviot Financial in Ohio Names Chairman

Cheviot Financial in Cincinnati has elected James Williamson chairman.

The $573 million-asset company's previous chairman, Robert Thomas died in May. He was 72.

Cheviot appointed Williamson chairman last week. He had previously been Cheviot's board secretary. Jack Smith was named board secretary to succeed Williamson.

Williamson, listed as 70 years old in the company's proxy statement in March, has been a Cheviot director since 1997. He is a former principal of Oak Hills High School in Cincinnati.

Thomas had been a Cheviot director since 1989.
